Restoring Mailbox Stores Using Recovery Storage Groups
Restoring a mailbox store using an RSG is a multistep process. First, you create an RSG on the Exchange server whose data you want to restore. If you do not have sufficient space on this server, you can use an RSG on another Exchange 2003 server that is in the same Administrative Group as the Exchange server whose data you want to restore. Then, you add the mailbox store you are recovering to the RSG. In this step, you aren't actually adding a physical mailbox store; you're adding only a reference to it.
