Sharing policies

Sharing policies are the mechanism used by Exchange 2010 to control how users share data between organizations. In the first release of Exchange 2010, sharing is restricted to calendar and contact information between organizations that enjoy a federated trust relationship created with the New-OrganizationRelationship cmdlet. Federation between two Exchange organizations requires the deployment of the Microsoft Federation Gateway, which acts as a trusted broker between the two organizations to ensure that data can pass between them in a safe and secure manner.
