Integrating Exchange UM and Lync Server
Perhaps no area of integration between Lync and Exchange is more complex than UM integration. However, after you have a functioning Exchange UM set up (as detailed in Chapter 6) on the premises, tying it together with Lync is fairly simple because Exchange treats Lync as just another IP PBX. (Configuring integration between hosted Lync and on-premises Exchange, or vice versa, is significantly more complex and also rare, so these cases aren’t covered here.)
