Troubleshooting Client Connections

12.1 Introduction

You can access your Exchange 2003 mailbox in numerous ways. For traditional MAPI-based client access with Outlook 2003, you now have the choice of “connecting” in classic online mode or cached mode or using RPC over HTTP connections, although whether you connect in cached mode or not is merely a “way of working” rather than a method of connecting. OWA is also available, as are connections from your hand-held or mobile device. Usually, you start your client, and you are connected with your mailbox, but occasionally changes to the environment might prevent the client from successfully connecting to your mailbox.
