How it works...

To start with, we configured the DAG to use the C:\ExDBs and C:\ExVols folders. These can be changed to the names that suit your environment. The default folder values can also be used, namely C:\ExchangeDatabases and C:\ExchangeVolumes. We changed them in order to illustrate a basic example of how it can be done.

With the folders in place, we configured the DAG using the -AutoDagDatabaseCopiesPerVolume parameter and set it to 1. This is because we have one database per volume in our example. This means that this parameter should be set to the number of databases that each volume will host.
