With our task fairly well defined, let's briefly discuss how the Blender plugin works, including how to install and use it. Blender makes itself extendable via plugins. After installing the accompanying plugin, BlenderLIVE, the user will be able to share selected models. As soon as one object is shared, the service will start broadcasting itself across the local network. It is this broadcast that the HoloLens listens out for and, once discovered, will use to establish a connection with the service (BlenderLIVE). Once a connection is made, the associated data is shared with the HoloLens, including the model's geometry, materials, and textures.
