Spatial understanding
In the previous section, we walked through one approach of placing a hologram; the approach consisted of breaking the surface mesh into a set of planes, identifying an appropriate plane, then scoring each position on this plane before using the position with the best score. As you would expect, understanding and incorporating the physical world into MR applications is a common task. Fortunately, this task has been solved for us and made available in HoloToolkit. In this section, we will walk through how to make use of it in our application.
