Chapter 10. Dependent Services

Lync Server, like most Microsoft applications, depends on a number of other infrastructure services. To operate properly, Lync Server integrates with Active Directory to store configuration information on user objects. It depends on DNS for finding hosts and services, it depends on Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) to provide certificates, and it depends on the network to connect clients to servers. This chapter covers some of those dependencies and helps Lync Server administrators understand and configure these items.
