Installing the Persistent Chat Server Role
After the Lync topology has been updated to include the Persistent Chat pool, the Lync Server role installation can be run on each Persistent Chat server that has been added to the topology. The following procedure is used to install Persistent Chat on one of the servers that has been defined in the topology:
1. Log on to the server using an account that has local administrative rights on the system, and execute the setup.exe file from the Lync media.
2. If it’s not already installed, a prompt appears regarding the installation of Microsoft Visual C++ X64 Minimum Runtime as a prerequisite. Click Yes to install the software.
