This section looks in detail at the alternative to RDA: SQL Server CE Merge Replication (referred to as merge replication from here). Merge replication is supported in SQL Server 2000 and later. Although merge replication is more powerful and simpler to program than RDA is, you will find that it is more complex to set up, especially the security configuration.
