Chapter 17. Using SQL Server CE

This chapter describes how to program a smart device application to work with a local SQL Server 2000 Windows CE Edition (SQL Server CE) database, and it discusses methods of creating the database and synchronizing it with a central or an enterprise SQL Server database. For example, a delivery service driver could download the day’s delivery schedule at a central depot at the start of a day into a local SQL Server CE database. During the day, the driver could use a smart device application to check the loading of goods and record the deliveries into the local SQL Server CE database.
