Working with Data Labels
If you neglected to add data labels to your chart while you were working your way through the Chart Wizard, you can do so after the fact by selecting any part of the chart, choosing Chart, Chart Options, and clicking the Data Labels tab. You can also use the Data Labels tab of the Chart Options dialog box to modify the contents of your labels. The labeling options for most chart types are Series Name, Category Name, and Value (see Figure 24-5). In pie and doughnut charts, you can also display each point's percentage of the total points—a useful option.
