The ability to summarize a large data set is important. The three tools used most often to summarize data in Microsoft Office Excel 2007 are histograms, descriptive statistics, and PivotTables. In this chapter, I’ll discuss the use of histograms for summarizing data. I cover descriptive statistics in Chapter 37, and PivotTables in Chapter 38.
