Each Groove account is automatically associated with a Groove identity. Groove automatically assigns to each identity a unique digital fingerprint that appears as a 40 character long, random string of letters and numbers that is used for identification purposes. These digital fingerprints are used to verify the identities of Groove contacts by some very sophisticated security mechanisms.

The identity of a Groove contact can be verified automatically if your Groove account is part of a managed domain. This method of verification is seamless if the domain administrator has enforced a policy to allow communication only with administrator-certified contacts.
