Database and XML Web Service Front-End Tool

InfoPath is unusual in that it can create forms that can submit data to and query relational databases such as Microsoft Access and SQL Server 2000, but it can also submit data to and query certain classes of XML Web services.

ADO, Not ADO.NET

Microsoft is increasingly encouraging developers to make the transition from COM-based languages to the .NET Framework and associated languages such as C# and Visual Basic .NET. Perhaps surprisingly, InfoPath 2003 has no .NET functionality at all.
