Creating Categories
You use Categories to define data permissions. For example, data permissions include the See Projects in Project Center View permission. What projects will be visible in that view are described by the data restrictor also found in the Category. So, Categories allow data to be seen and managed and may restrict the data to be seen and managed by a user.
Like the Groups page, Categories also have sections, explained individually in the following sections. Also, there are Microsoft default Categories, which are not roles based. The defaults and an optional Category design are discussed in the “Optional Category Configuration” section later in this chapter.
