Opening Visio 2007 Documents

In Visio 2007, you can open diagrams, stencils, templates, and workspace files. Each is represented by a different file extension. (You can see file extensions by clicking the Organize button when viewing a folder in Vista. Then click on Folder And Search Options. Under the View tab, turn off the Hide Extensions For Known File Types checkbox.) The file extensions represent these file types:

  • .vsd is a Visio drawing file.

  • .vss is a Visio stencil file.

  • .vst is a Visio template file.

  • .vsw is a Visio workspace file.
