2.4. Basic PivotTable Formatting and Data Element Placement
Figure 2-13 shows the PivotTable without the Rate Plan field. When we unchecked the field in the List pane, Excel automatically removed it from the Row Labels rectangle within the PivotTable Field List pane—and automatically removed it from the actual PivotTable. In removing the Rate Plan field, we removed the differentiating factor that made multiple Treos for Housekeeping break out as separate data items for Add On and JR 200—and the PivotTable automatically consolidated them. The remaining single row for Housekeeping accurately shows ten Treos—where before we showed two Treos and eight Treos, broken out by Plan.
