6.5. Excel 2007: Data Mining Tab Tools
This is a more advanced area of Excel Data Mining. Although it uses the same connection to SQL Server 2005 Analysis Services to leverage the Microsoft Research statistical analysis tools, it provides a more sophisticated set of menus to configure the data mining experience.
The tools on this Data Mining tab are quite literally a client version of the SQL Server 2005 Data Mining tools. The difference is that we're able to do our work from within Excel instead of Visual Studio, which has long been the Data Mining design environment for SQL Server.
