Azure Automation accounts have shared resources which can be used by all runbooks in an Automation account. Also referred to as assets, shared resources include the following:
- Schedules: Schedules are used with runbooks and enable them to be executed at a set time. A schedule can be linked to multiple runbooks and a runbook can be subject to various schedules. For instance, the update deployment feature in Azure Automation Update management executes runbooks to patch heterogeneous workloads at various pre-defined schedules.
