The Update management solution analyses update metadata and state data collected from servers in your on-premises data centre and in the cloud, assesses the update state of the servers, and provides you with automation capabilities for patching any servers with approved updates. Update management supports the following connected sources:
- SCOM management group: The solution collects and analyses information about updates from agents in a SCOM management group that is connected to OMS
- Windows updates: The solution can collect information about system updates from Windows computers and can initiate installation of updates that are required
