Service Map gets its data from the Dependency Agent. Once the agent is installed on supported Windows and Linux computers, the agents gather and send monitoring data to Log Analytics endpoints. Once the data is in Log Analytics, Service Map analyzes the monitoring data and maps the connections between servers, ports, and processes across any TCP-connected architecture, regardless of whether your workloads are in the your on-premises data center or in a public cloud, such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.
