When I went on the O’Reilly platform, I was astonished to find all the books there, plus live events and sandboxes so you could play around with the technology.I’ve been on the O’Reilly platform for more than eight years. I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Remove Columns
Often, the data sources you will connect to will include many columns that are not necessary for the solution you are designing. It is important to remove these unnecessary columns from your dataset because these unused columns needlessly take up space inside your data model. There are several different methods for removing columns in the Power Query Editor. This example will show one of these methods using the same dataset from the prior demonstration:
- Multi-select (Ctrl + click) the column headers of the columns you wish to keep as part of your solution. In this scenario, select the columns Bank Name, City, ST, and Closing Date.
- With these four columns selected, right-click on any of the selected columns and choose Remove ...
