Phase I: Research
In this phase, you gather information about the scope and goals of your project; you determine parameters, such as dates, resources, and money available for your project; and finally, you specify deliverables.
Ask the following people or groups of people to define the goal of this project. Note any discrepancies in their goal statements and resolve them before you begin planning your project:
Your manager.
Your staff.
The manager of finance
The person who manages the product or service that pertains to your project. For example, if you are setting up a new manufacturing unit, contact the production line supervisor. If you are organizing the move to a new facility, contact the office or facilities manager.
