Upgrading an Existing Extranet Solution from SharePoint 2007
When an existing SharePoint 2007 extranet web application is upgraded, it will initially use classic mode authentication. To upgrade it to claims-based authentication, perform the following steps:
- Verify that the upgraded web application works as is in classic mode authentication.
- Open a SharePoint 2010 Management PowerShell console.
- Use the following command to convert the web application to use claims-based authentication:
