Search in SharePoint Server 2010 includes several major enhancements:
• Wildcard searches out-of-the-box: Now you can enter a partial term, such as ‘sharep**’, which does not limit results to the term ‘sharepoint’ but instead returns all instances of words including (minimally) the letters ‘sharep’.
• Query syntax: Use 'AND', 'OR', 'NOT' in search queries, such as ‘sharepoint AND workflow’.
• FAST integration: Takes SharePoint search to the next level by incorporating Office file previews directly from the search results page.
