Comparison to SharePoint Server 2007
If you are working with, or have worked with, SharePoint Server 2007, then you’re probably wondering what the main differences between that version and SharePoint Server 2010 are.
The core functionality that exists in SharePoint Server 2007, such as site templates and document management, is carried over to SharePoint 2010. But there are many new features as listed in Table 1.1. Obviously, publishing and content management functionality seen in SharePoint Server 2007 has been carried over to SharePoint Server 2010, so you still have the advantage of standardizing on content availability and content presentation within sites.
