Summary

In this chapter, you learned how to create and customize content pages with the exception of (publishing) page layouts, which are discussed in Chapter 15.

I also discussed the use of tables versus DIVs (or CSS layout) when creating new pages. As discussed, SharePoint 2010 out-of-the-box is not entirely “tableless.” Indeed, as you create new master pages in later chapters, you’ll undoubtedly encounter additional table elements, and you might even choose to default to using tables in some instances. The power of CSS, however, is obvious when you can control layout from a single CSS file, such as standardizing borders around hyperlinked images, as opposed to modifying HTML markup.
