How Page Layouts are Deployed to Site Collections
Earlier in this chapter, we defined page layout architecture and discussed the relevance of publishing content types and the role they play with page layouts. One out-of-the-box page layout we referenced was the Enterprise Wiki page layout. However, the Enterprise Wiki page layout is only deployed in site collections provisioned from one of the publishing site templates. If you choose to provision a site collection based on the team site template then the Enterprise Wiki page layout is not included as one of the available page layouts in that site collection.
