Main CSS Files
When SharePoint 2010 is deployed, CSS files are installed on the Web front-end server. These CSS files are referred to as the uncustomized version of CSS files used by SharePoint 2010, which, like other files in SharePoint, is an important consideration when working with and customizing CSS in SharePoint Designer. When SharePoint pages are rendered in the browser, by default, SharePoint draws from the CSS files on the Web front-end server.
