Hiding View All Site Content Link in Site Actions Menu

The View All Site Content menu item in the SharePoint Site Actions Menu becomes redundant where you might already have removed the link from elsewhere on the page, such as the All Site Content link seen below the Recycle Bin link on Wiki pages. Removing the link helps to avoid users going to the http://sitename/_layouts/viewlsts.aspx page and seeing the raw view of the SharePoint site’s contents.

Use the following steps to hide the View All Site Content link in the Site Actions menu.

1. In the sample.master page, locate the Site Actions menu (see the preceding example) and in the Site Actions menu, locate the menu item template with an ID of MenuItem_ViewAllSitecontents.
