How to Attach a List from Another Site in SharePoint Designer 2010
One major change in SharePoint Designer 2010 is that you no longer have the option to attach a list from another site in your site collection to the existing, or currently open, site. This option was removed largely due to security issues, such as issues experienced when attempting to authenticate to the list items on the source list. However, not all is lost!
