Creating a New Secure Store Target Application

Each target application you want to authenticate needs to be created in Central Administration. The following steps show you how to create a connection to a new system. In the following example we are going to create a connection to SQL using SQL Authentication:

1. Open Central Administration and navigate to Application Management, Service Applications, Manage Service Applications, Secure Store Service Application. (The Service application might have another name in your environment; see your administrator to find out the name of the application.)
