List Workflow
The ability to attach workflows to a list or library is standard practice and has traditionally been the way you have created workflows using SharePoint Designer in the past. When working in SharePoint Designer you will find very little has changed in respect to attaching workflows to lists. You will discover that as you continue using SharePoint Designer 2010 you will create fewer list-based workflows and instead leverage the newer reusable or site workflows to take advantage of the flexibility and functionality offered by those workflows.
