Installing SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000
When installing SharePoint Portal Server 2003 and SQL Server 2000 on the same server, SQL Server 2000 should ideally be installed prior to installing SharePoint Portal Server 2003 so that the database infrastructure is in place when SharePoint is ready to create the databases needed for SharePoint to function.
