SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services (SSRS) provides an enterprise-class reporting infrastructure by exposing multiple extensible components through numerous user and programmatic interfaces. SSRS uses these components to retrieve data from various sources, turn the data into a readable report, and deliver the data to specified targets. Targets can include a web browser for interactive reporting or an email account when report subscriptions are configured.
