Using the SQL Server PowerShell

Windows PowerShell is increasingly being used in enterprises, and SQL Server 2008 includes extensions to help you take advantage of this powerful shell environment. By default, when you install the Database Engine, SQL Server Setup installs Windows PowerShell and then configures extensions for SQL Server 2008. However, if you’ve already installed the appropriate version of Windows PowerShell, SQL Server Setup installs only the necessary extensions for SQL Server 2008.
