Database Snapshots were introduced in SQL Server 2005 to provide users a method to rapidly create read-only copies of data. In this chapter, you learn how to create a Database Snapshot, as well as how to use a Database Snapshot to revert data or a database to a previous point in time.
Note
Database Snapshots are available only in the Enterprise edition of SQL Server.
