Migrating Databases and Disaster Recovery
The following sections will walk you through two distinct scenarios. The first is migration of databases across servers. Database migration is commonly used to move data from a staging server to a production server, to synchronize databases across multiple servers to enable load balancing, or to synchronize databases between a processing server and a reporting server. The second scenario is backup and restore. Backup and restore allows for disaster recovery and can greatly reduce downtime.
