Building a Report
After you have a dataset available, you are ready to build your report by arranging the data-set fields in data regions. For the most part, using fields from an Analysis Services dataset is no different from using fields from any other type of dataset. However, you’ll find there are a few notable differences when you need to format or aggregate field values, which you learn about in this section.
Using an Analysis Services Dataset in a Report
After creating an Analysis Services dataset, you’re ready to develop the report layout. The columns returned by the MDX query are added as fields to the dataset, and you can use these fields in a data region in the same way you learned to work with dataset fields in previous chapters.
