SQL Server 2012 introduces a significant rewrite of the SQLOS Memory Manager and has the first significant changes in memory management since SQLOS was introduced in SQL Server 2005. The goal of this section is twofold.

  • To describe the aspects of memory management that you have control over so that you can understand when to exert that control
