Many of the business intelligence capabilities of SQL Server 2000 have been improved in SQL Server 2005, and in some cases these capabilities have been completely rearchitected. (SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition is required to support most of the advanced functionality.) An important new feature is the addition of Business Intelligence Development Studio, which supplies a set of templates for developing business intelligence projects in an integrated development environment.
