Creating the Windows Cluster
To create a SQL Server cluster, you must first create a Windows cluster. The Windows cluster in Microsoft Windows 2003 (Enterprise Edition and Datacenter Edition) is a built-in feature that does not require any additional software to be installed. Nodes in the cluster can have different hardware, but the operating system must be the same across all nodes in the cluster:
To create the cluster from the Start menu, select Administrative Tools and then select Cluster Administrator. This invokes the Cluster Administrator tool.
