Creating Software Updates Deployment
When software update deadlines are used, it’s common to create a new software deployment each time patches are released. The Software Update deployment defines the deadline for the patches in the deployment; by default, this is two weeks from the date the deployment was created. If patches were added to an existing Software Update deployment and the deadline has already expired, the patches would be installed immediately and the system restarted.
If deadlines are not used, the patches can be added to an existing software update deployment without causing the patches to be installed immediately.
