Tuning the Windows Management Pack
During Windows Management Pack deployment, a couple of items must be tuned to mitigate alerting storms and for baseline monitoring. The tuning points are as follows:
• Logical Disk Free Space Monitor
• Total Processor % Interrupt Time Rule
The Logical Disk Free Space Monitor for both Windows Server 2003 Logical Disk and the Windows Server 2008 Logical Disk should be tuned. The way the Logical Disk Free Space is configured, there are two sets of values for error and warning: % Threshold and MByte Threshold. Rather than a logical OR
