Using DPM Central Console for Administration
Data Protection Manager 2012 added an additional method for administering DPM using the Central Console. The Central Console has two functions, a server component and a client component. The Central Console server component allows System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) to receive alerts and status of all DPM servers for centralized monitoring. The Central Console client component provides a single administration view and management controls for multiple DPM servers. From the central console client component, protection groups can be centrally created, backup jobs can be initiated, recovery processes can be initiated, and the status of all protection groups can be monitored.
