Protecting File Servers
As discussed in Chapter 10, DPM has supported replication and data protection for file server data since the initial DPM 2006 release of the product. In fact, with that release of DPM, file server data was pretty much all it protected. With the DPM 2012 release, the number of different Microsoft technologies that DPM can protect has vastly increased, but at its core, DPM still offers file server data protection for Windows Server from 2003 through 2008 R2.
