Microsoft Vista: Data Protection

Introduction

Windows Vista introduces many new elements that allow for greater protection of your data—protection against loss, protection against theft, protection against outsiders and insiders. Vista offers new Universal Serial Bus (USB) policy controls, a built-in rights management software engine, drive encryption, and protection against kernel modifications. Vista also offers some updates to time-tested features that have already worked well for data protection, such as the Encrypting File System (EFS).
