The ASP.NET Ajax Library/Control Toolkit
Microsoft worked with the development community to introduce an early version of Ajax inside of Visual Studio in the 2003/2005 versions. This support was referred to as ATLAS. From these early beginnings grew the Ajax Control Toolkit. Arguably, this toolkit represents one of the most successful open-source projects worked on jointly by a big company and the development community. This toolkit continues to evolve. The latest version has grown and is now called the ASP.NET Ajax Library. The library provides developer support for building Ajax controls, doing data-binding, and it works with JQuery. The library also includes new versions of the toolkit controls.
