Implementing 802.1x Authentication

To implement 802.1x authentication, you must configure the RADIUS server and the WAP or switch to implement RADIUS.

Configuring the RADIUS Server

In a Microsoft network, IAS provides RADIUS capabilities on the network. To deploy IAS for wireless networking, you must do the following:

• Install IAS.

• Add the IAS server to the RAS and IAS Servers group.

• Define the RADIUS clients.

• Create a 802.1x Wireless Computer remote access policy.

• Create a 802.1x Wired Computer remote access policy.

• Create a 802.1x Wireless User remote access policy.

• Create a 802.1x Wired User remote access policy.
